NO!
Do not use products with petroleum or alcohol in them! NO VASELINE OR NEOSPORIN! They draw out color and alcohol dries out tattoos, and they both can negatively affect your tattoo. Any reputable artist should have told you what to you, and what not to use. It varies by prefrence, but generally it's A&D Ointment/Bactarin/Tattoo Goo/Ink Fixx(any of those work) for the first few days, and then a white alcohol free/unscented white lotion (Lubriderm...etc) to moisturize it...

Trust me, do NOT use those.. please?

If you have any questions, feel free to message.

A couple of suggestions:
1) Tattoo-Goo it's an actual brand of tattoo aftercare goop.
2) Palmer's CocoButter It's what I've used on all mine.
3) Neosporin is a great idea BUT make SURE you get the GEL and NOT THE CREAM! Gel=Good, Cream=BAD The cream can pull out your ink.

Personal preference You could use tattoo goo or roccos old school tattoo balm Some us A&D that stuff is horrible and ruins my tattoos, but it's good for some people Some use aquaphor I use Lubriderm Sensitive. It's 100% lanolin free, dye free and fragrance free I can tell you DO NOT use vaseline. That will ruin a tattoo it's horrible

Vaseline can be a great barrier, but I would suggest using a cream called Bepanthem, which most tattoo salons usually provide this information to you or supply you with the cream. You can buy this product from the supermarket and is usually in the baby section, as also used for nappy rash and a barrier protecter.

I've been instructed to provide A&D ointment for aftercare; the vitamins help the healing process; however this product has no anti-bacterial properties
Vaseline can do if you're in a fix, and need to keep it a bit moist.

Bacterian is good, and is anti-bacterial.

I've also been told it's the ointments with the triple-antibiotics that can or may pull the ink out of the skin (Neosporin, for example)

NO! NEVER use Vaseline on a tattoo it will bring the color out of the tattoo. A great product to use for tattoos is A&D ointment you can buy it at the stores and its usually about 3.00 or so for the large tubes of it. Also don't use "Neosporin" or products like it as they will pull the ink out of the tattoo.

NEVER!!!!! Use A&D ointment. Clean your skin with an antibacterial soap and pat dry then use the A&D ointment which you can buy at any drugstore. I have heard that the tattoo goo is good but not as easily accessable and costs more.

No, you don't want to use a petroleum product on your tatt. You also don't want to use Vitamin E because it can pull the ink out. I always use Lubriderm (the one that is free of dyes for sensitive skin). It helped keep it moist and the colors stayed beautiful.
