Edward is our youngest of three cats, he's one and half years old, we can't figure out what is wrong with him. He miaows constantly, whether its for attention, we pick him up, give him hugs, strokes. Their food bowl is always topped up, he's loved and we talk to him, but he still continues to constantly whine. He doesn't sit on our laps and will follow us everywhere. He hasn't been neutered. Is there an underlying problem? Or he just a 'vocal' cat. Is there anything to worry about? We did mention it to the vet 3-4 months ago and it didn't seem to cause concern. Any suggestions, warmly welcome

What breed of cat is he? Some breeds, such as the Siamese are more vocal than others. If he is well looked after, he may be just talkative. Will you be neutering him? He is likely to quieten down abit if you do, but it would depend on if you wanted to breed your cats. I would recommend that you do neuter him, if you aren't thinking of breeding, just so that there are no unwanted kittens in the future. Good luck...your cats sound happy anyway!

Why isn't Edwards neutered? Anyway, I don't know if yu are willing to do this, but whenever my high-maintenance male cat goes off in one of his vocalizations episodes (happens once or twice a year), I "discipline" him by giving him "time out" in his cat kennel. I take him (in the kennel) into the alundry, turn off the light and close the door. He meows for a minute or so and realizes that I am not going to open the door. When he is quiet in there for a while, I go get him from his kennel. Usually, I find him dosing comfortably. This way, I am telling him that whinning and crying too much for no reason will be "rewarded" with "time-out" in the cat kennel. Then he'll be good for a time after that, until he "forgets."
Oh, don't make the mistake of rewarding his over-vocalizations with a pat on the head or cuddles - he'll just keep on wanting more!

I think he is just smelling girlie cats!!!! One of my girls started doing this just before she came into season (about a year old) as soon as it happened i got her spade. She went wild trying to get out of the house and mi owing all night!!! Now she is still vocal and when i come home she talks to me. Sometimes if there is a fly or spider in the house she will tell you its there by running round mi owing it usually means she has brought me a present!!! The last one was last night a big black hairy spider!!!! At least she had the decency to eat it after she played for about an hour!!

Cats do learn sometimes that being vocal gets them more attention. The best thing to try for a month at least is to completely ignore it.

Maybe he is trying to tell you something. Our cat is 17 years old and he talks to us all the time. We all talk to him and he always answers back. Don't know what he is saying but we think he is answering us. You can look it up if you are concerned on several good web sites. Google ask about feline health.

in case you feed the two one among your cats, inspite of age, wellbeing kind canned nutrition two times an afternoon, you will have healthy cats. Prescription diets and dry meals are terrible on your cats. Dry nutrition dehydrates their insides and reasons liver failure over the years, alongside with a million different wellness issues. Prescription diets are crammed with chemical ingredients and occasional grade meats. inspite of age, wellbeing kind is crammed with human grade meats and loaded with supplements. i've got seen it turn around the wellness of cats of each age. I do think of they have a kitten one you need to provide your infant, yet even the person formula is greater desirable than different manufacturers of kitten nutrition. additionally, feeding basically two times an afternoon is greater commonplace to cats, as cats interior the wild rapid between nutrition. this could help the two cats be the proper weight. believe me it is going to ward off 1000's on vet expenses. be at liberty to digital mail me in case you want to talk greater approximately this.

it could possibly be that he is very vocal but if you are concerned perhaps try a more sympathetic vet. it may also be wise to get him neutered at the same time
Perhaps this site can help more
