I'm writing from America in the early morning hours and assume you are writing from India in the early evening.
I find your question intriguing. As an American married to a person from India, we have both noticed many cultural differences that make getting along difficult and sometimes I am angry at his lack of sympathy for those less than himself.
I admit that I don't understand his religion but from my point of view the best thing India could do to enhance its glory, and remember the citizens of India must do this...no one can do it for them, is that they need to rearrange their thinking concerning Karma and the Caste system.
In America we consider all people equal, regardless of genderr, race, financial status and education (well, we like to pretend we do anyway) As long as we successfully maintain that attitude, we prosper and have been a happy and successful people.
While hypocracy abounds in both countries, the thing I think is keeping India from success is the inability to see themselves as "the same as" everyone else.
Our Indian friends are very wealthy by Indian standards and just upper middle class in America. However, they don't give a penny, talk or associate with anyone they consider less than themselves. Their families are tight knit and they NEVER associate with anyone outside their Caste. They enjoy showing the rich houses they have in India, the news paper articles concerning the greatness of their family in India, the beautiful Rolex watches they own and yet...
Still have the audacity to ask me to help India! Sure there are seriously disadvantaged people there but I think Indian's are very able to solve their homeless problems if they can stoop to help their neighbors instead of feeling like Shiva is punishing them for some behavior in a past life.
The religion of India seems to say, "We love HUMANITY...its people we can't stand!" and "It serves them right those sinful creatures."
Christian America is becoming more and more like that but we didn't used to be. When we act as the people of India act, we will be come like India is. When we, as Americans begin to be racist, egotistical and intolarant, our greatness as a nation will fail us and the GREAT AMERICAN way of life will be greatly diminished and the world will see it as they are beginning to see it now.
In my opinion, all people are in this together and we are only as strong as our weakest link. I think the glory of India will be most enhanced with the individual Indian gets off their ego trip and the "Brahmans" begin to touch the "untouchable" as all people are connected.
Just as in America, religion has hindered the growth of India. Drop "Holier Than Thou" attitudes and begin to help one another (outside your own family) in an attitude of humility and India will be glorified. I, personally, can do very little.
