Not really a fair question because any artist who likes his work will tell you his work is priceless. He may think it priceless but everyone else would consider it junk. This is the dilemma of the critic.

To be an artist and have your art have value, the only one you have to please is yourself. All others are critics. Some critics may like your work, other may not, but that does not mean that what you have done is not art and does not have value.

Maybe you should ask, "what is the most underrated recognized artist and what of his work is undervalued?"

I do not know much about paintings...commercial paintings or paintings for home/office. I was told as long as the artist is still alive, the painting is for-now, probably under-rated. If you see something really nice, it probably is under-rated. If it's not created by a celebrity or royalty, it probably is under-rated.

To me, the most underrated and under-priced painting is the painting that YOUR toddler or under-12 does. Almost nobody thinks it's important.
