See one of your mates who are running xp and have a dvd/cd rw on their pc. Copy disc and use it on your machine with their details. I don't think this is illegal as it is not a pirate copy.

i do have free copy of xp or en every windows and every software because i am from pakistan and there is no copyright law in pakistan particularly for pirated cd. if you want to get any software or windows cd , contact me at my yahoo id

You're wasting your time getting an illegal copy of windows, as Microsoft can now detect illegal copies and will shut down your computer.

Also, you wouldn't be able to get updates and your computer will be open to attacks.

You want a copy, then buy one.

if you find a free copy, it will be a pirate...if you keep updates turned on, windows will catch up with you and stop your updates. it happened to me.

you can get a eval version of vista. its a free download and its only 3 gigs.
