Transplanting is vital.why can't eyes be transplanted to the nonfunctional eyes?"?

They do transplant corneas but as I understand it, the optic nerve is too difficult to splice together to transplant the whole eyeball.

they used to transplant corneas but the synthetics are available now or laser work. to transplant a whole eyeball usually doesn't work
