There are a few things to do.One tell him no every time he chews on something he shouldn't making sure you are consistent and tell him no every time he chews on something.
You can provide chews for him instead or as well as telling him off as you can use that as a distraction because he will be teething and that is what makes them chew everything. You should have less trouble as he gets older.
You can also get a special spray that you spray on things you don't want him to chew on.I haven't tried it so I can't tell you for sure whether it works or not.
Hope you dissuade your puppy from chewing. He sounds so cute! Not the chewing thing but the fact that he is a germen shepherd puppy!Hope you have a great time with him as he gets older and spoil him rotten! But not too much!

Move everything out of reach that you don't want chewed up basically! give them plenty of things they can chew, if you cant afford expensive toys drop a couple of plastic cola bottles on the floor, hard rubber bones, Kong toys in particular are very good, old socks knotted in the middle, these big knotted ropes are good also and not too expensive, beef hide chews are good but don't leave your dog on its own with one of these as they can choke on them!
If you don't mind clearing up a bit of mess an old cardboard box is great (make sure there are no staples)! An old tyre if in the garden keeps them amused for hours (sometimes), If you are in US then there is a toy called a PUPPY PULL, I was lucky to have a friend bring one back for me, lots of fun!!
Good Luck with pup.

Crate train and give him his own chew toys.
If you limit what he can destroy he will learn what is acceptable behavior and what isn't. Puppies need to chew. Just be smart about what it is you give him to chew on. An old shoe is a bad idea cause every shoe you own becomes fair game to him. There are tons on chew toys for dogs that are made for and safe for him. The crate will keep him confined when you can't always watch over him. Never use a crate as punishment for "bad dog" behavior.

Make sure puppy has a lot of chew toys and bones. You can also buy some bitter apple spray at you pet store. Bitter apple tastes bad to the dog but has no smell. Hot sauce also works but is messy.

Give him bones and chew toys. Also use an anti-chew spray from your local petshop (on the furniture-not the pup!!!).

Give pup a frozen waffle to chew or something pup can relieve its teeth on. Mine did the same and all she needed was something to ease her gums.

you could try getting a small can and filling it with a few coins, then sealing it. then every time the dog goes to chew something (or if it behaves badly) shake the can and it will stop the dog from doing it.

Lots and lots of edible chew toys.
Try freezing them, just like human babies, teething pups like how it feels on their gums.
