HELL NO
My daughter will not date until she is 16, and even that is going to be restricted.
quick question: what do you think is on the mind of this 16 year old?
I know you know the answer, now look at your daughter SHE'S 11
that's gross.

Someone just asked in another thread about a 9 yr old wanting to date another 9 yr old...
I said it was fine as long as it was supervised.
So I should say this is fine as long as it's supervised, (take 'em to Chucky Cheese and give them a bunch of tokens..... let the 16 yr old live like an 11 yr old)
But the real question is why is this 11 yr old even knowing who the 16 yr old is. That is a elementary student hanging with a highschool student. They should not even know each other let alone be dating.
Red Flag, Red flag

Its not so much the dating, its the age of the boy, he's far too old for her, if she wants to go on a supervised date with a boy her own age i would think that was ok, but not with a 16 yr old, and what is this boy thinking anyway, why would he want to date an 11 year old?....i think he has an alterior motive!

Just out of interest are you all American? You seem so much more strict about this sort of thing.
I'm from Essex in England. When I think of "dating" at that age all I ever did was go to the cinema or bowling. I was 12 when I had my first boyfriend, he was 16, and all we ever did was kiss & hug, nothing sinister!
I have always felt that sex education is down to the parents, talk to your daughter about "the birds and the bees" and warn her of what could happen, not just pregnancies but diseases as well. That should be enough to scare her off of doing anything else.
Just because she wants to see this guy doesn't mean she's gonna run off and have sex with him. Anyway, if you forbid her she'll find another way to see him if she really wants to.
Maybe as a middle ground say she can have this boy over to your house, that way you can see what he's like and keep an eye on what they're doing at the same time if you're really that worried.

ABSOLUTELY NOT! I wasn't allowed to date until I was 16 years old and even then it was restricted. I never resented my parents for this and it certainly didn't do me any harm. All you have to do is explain that there are rules in your house and she is going to follow them..end of story. An 11 year old is still a just a child and has no business dating anyone..especially a hormonal 16 year old boy. And what is a 16 year old doing sniffing around an 11 year old anyway? I'd find out who he is and phone his parents. They need to know what he's up to. For all you know he's harrassing other pre-adolescent girls in your daughter's school.

no way dont let her... acutally 11 years old is WAY too young to date anyone at all. My daughter is 12 and in 7th grade she has boyfiend at school .. all her friends do.. they talk on the phone and that is about it. I wouldnt let her see them outside of school if she wanted to... about as far as I would let it go is to maybe have a brithday party or skate party and invite them with other kids somthing where i can keep my eye on them.. i dont expect anyhting to happen BUT however i want her to know that MOMMY will be keeping an eye on her to some extent NOW and then when she gets old enough to date it wont come as a suprise when I question her or the boy and want places and times of where they are.
I think that on the part of the 16 year old... he knows that it is wrong, and may be trying take advantage of her . I think that possibly on her part maybe she is flattered that an older guy likes her and that feeling of being flattered automatically makes her really want to go out. but she is way too young.. no matter how mature she may seem... TOO YOUNG... this young man is a sneaky little fellow trying to pull this off... dont let him.... if he calls or comes by ... if you think she can tell him no and mean it then ok... if not.. then mom ... tell him she is too young.. . no way she can date him ... end of story

Talk to your daughter and explain to her that she is way to young to be dating. Let alone a 16 year old. Tell her she has plenty of time for dating when she is old enough but for now to enjoy her youth. And as for the 16 year old, make sure that boy stays away from your daughter. Good Luck.

Interesting!I would let she do it so that I could realize what yr daughter wants and how she behaves as a 16 year_old girl.then I would tell her to give up that thought , to be herself,to behave right with her age.I would let her understand that to be a 11 year-old girl also has its interesting thing. "don't let u look older!" "u will be more lovely at the age of 11".I would say that.

An 11 year old is to young to be dating anyone. I would talk to her, explain to her that she does not need to be dating anyone, much less someone who is almost a man. He is almost a man, he should know better than to mess with a child.I would talk to the boy, and let him know that if I catch him with my baby, it will not be pretty for him. Then, it's time for lock down mode with my daughter. None of my kids are getting taken advantage of by perverts, and they aren't going to go around acting loose either.

I would tell her no!
We are still allowed to use the word "no" as far as I can tell. I don't think the word "no" is considered abuse yet.
If that didn't work, I would call the police on the 16 year old. My husband is a soldier, so he has the ability to influence the situation. As far as my 11 year old (I actually have one), she can listen to my words, be grounded or other punishment.
