Hi Katie...a simple recipe to consider would be to boil some chicken and rice--not adding any seasonings as they can be harmful to cats. Salt causes electrolyte imbalances. Here's a list of ingredients that should be avoided: http://www.peteducation.com:80/article.cfm?cls=0&cat=1276&articleid=1029
This recipe has another advantage...you can freeze it to serve for months ahead as well.
Just a side note that this recipe shouldn't be considered a main staple as most cat foods add taurine and other feline vitamins which are essential a cat's overall health.

Cats are obligate carnivores meaning that they are meant to eat only meat. I do not believe in such a thing as "spoiling" your cat actually if you feed your cats a varied diet from a young age then they are more likely to eat whatever you will feed them.
As far as what you should cook to feed to your cat all I can say is do not cook anything for your cat they should have a meat based diet that is RAW. I feed all 12 of my cats and 2 dogs raw and they have never done better. Here is a link that has a bunch of information and a recipe for feeding cats raw food. You can also join a list called barf-lite here on yahoo that has a ton of great information from people who are experienced in feeding raw.

Try my recipe for stuffed peppers. It's the easiest thing in the world and so tasty! 4 green peppers 1 lb. lean ground beef 1 egg 1 packet Minute Rice (cooked and brought to room temperature) 3 potatoes, cubed 3 cans Campbell's tomato soup (do not add water) Mix the beef, rice and egg in a bowl with your hands. Cut the tops off the peppers and scoop out any seeds. Fill with beef mixture. Put in a large pot with the potatoes on the side. Cover with the soup and cook for about an hour and a half to two hours if you want the peppers very soft. It's delicious!

My cats were always fussy and went through times where they would not eat. I fed them on the Felix single sachets for wet food (i don't know if you will get that in Ireland) if they would not eat that then I would cook some chicken and take it off the bone and give then the white meat they loved that and on the rear occasion I would give then chicken livers mixed with some of there pellets. Good Luck

Pet foods that you buy are probably the best source of a complete and balanced diet for you cat. Most foods that people try and cook for there pets don't contain the best nutrients for your animals so try buying a top quality pet brand cat food, and maybe add something extra special, like some vegemite or marmite, cats love this and your cat will be loving you!

Hi Katie
I have a fussy cat(but not anymore) i stopped buying her tined food and bought her high life from ASDA, I live in Belfast so you should be able to get it. If your cats still won't eat it let them have nothing for a few days and Don't feed them from your plate. As that's what i was doing to. They will soon get Hungary girl

There's a cat food made by Purina called Very Fussy Cat. My cat used to look at me in disgust when I gave her other cat food but loved this. It's dry cat food, which is better for your cat than tinned stuff. I buy it in Jolleys, but any good pet shops should do it. She loves tinned fish and you can get this quite cheap in Lidl. I also give her scraps of chicken (her absolute favourite) and any other plain meat.

My cat will not eat any brand of cat food at all, i have even had vets advice on this, but i eventually found that he eats a brand called HIGH LIFE (found in most supermarkets) mine only eats the fish flavours but you could give it a go.

My Granny was from Belfast. She had a saying "Hunger is the best sauce" However, she had a fussy cat and walked all over Belfast to get her "Jackie" the food he liked.
I know another woman from Ireland who feeds her cat prawns every day or tuna from M&S

Please don't cook for your cats, they're actually meant to eat raw meat not cooked meat. They will get all the minerals and vitamins they need in most cat food brands, find one they like or just wait till they're actually hungry. If you want to pamper them buy them a toy or pay them a lot of attention in other ways.
