Can someone help with OpenOffice Writer?

I would like to insert a picture into the text by having the picture on the right and the text on the left. I know how to insert a picture, I just don't know how to format it so that the the text is by or around the picture. Help please!

I also don't know how to do this in Microsoft Word...
