we are obsessed with beauty because of society,pressure and media,tv.if you think about this what if we didnt wake up everyday to that stereotype that were supposed to be we would be more happy with ourselves because there would be noone saying that theres a certain way we should look but we need to realize its called self esteem meaning no matter what u see on tv its up to u to know ur beautiful and u dont need to be perfect and compete with noone because we all have something beaytiful about us.

Honestly people talk to ppl because of an attraction. Be it physical or intellectual. WE all have our own ideas of whats attractive. However society plays a big role an d so does up bringing. I mean IM attracted to men that are slightly over weight and I find very thin men disgusting. Why i dont really know thats just me but other ppl will ONLY date very thin people. IN todays age people are TOO obsessed with being thin and they trade health for vanity.

It is absolutely society that controls what is beautiful and what is not. I am so sick of this twisted society that claims to control what is and what is not. I disassociate myself with this horrific injunction of life as we know it. there are people out there who could not be more gorgeous than if than were born manson child. Screw those bastards who say elsewise. I love all who don't participate in the cosmetic falsehoods.

Beauty is found in all of us and it is found everywhere in Nature.
However, the standards of Beauty you are referring to are set by the White Christian man's society through time.
However, the standards of beauty has been modified in about 10% to avoid courts and some discriminations due to the Civil Rights Acts of the 1960's.
Darwin who made up his false theory that white people are masters and dark colored skin people evolved from apes.
In addition, Movies, Cartoons, and Comic Books worked to psychologically asserts the white Christian man claim on the standards of Beauty and Heroes.
Adolf Hitler's book, described that the Christian white Arian man as top of the chain and Africans Jews and Arabs are in the bottom of the chain and that the white Christian man has a duty to Jesus wipe out all sub creatures or make sub creatures become as servants to the Christian white man's world as it noticed in today's Global Market and the Christian white man's domination and occupation of the World.
For example, Superman and Batman are white and with the image of White Jesus, the hero has white clothes on but the villain has dark clothes or dirty clothes on, the hero speak country American dialect or British English but the Villain speaks English with a broken Dialect or poor English, White Blonds or brunets are the good women but the women with the black jet hair and with darker color skin are the villains, white Women that are shaped fit are Heroes but large shaped women are villains or servants, and the Hero would have a small nose with soft light colored hair but the villain would have pointed large nose with curly dark hair like Arabs and Jews, White men are the masters and dark colored skin are the servants.
This has affected also opportunities in education, work, housing, legal rights, and in pay scale.

Being obsessed with the ideal of beauty is societal but man has always been fascinated with the beautiful. It has been this way as far back as one can go or across every type of society and culture. Not every time period or culture has the same idea of beauty, but beauty is appreciated in it's many forms.
