over the air hd is broadcast on the UHF spectrum. ANy antenna with a good UHF section will work just fine but, remember that where your home is located vs. where the TV towers are will have a great effect on what antenna you will need.

that usually happens when you connect a regular signal to a LCD the best thing to do is get the signal thru a cable box that has a HDMI out and in the cable box turn the upconverter on. I sold TVs for a while and became interested in LCD at that time. I too had the experience with that problem but over all I think that LCD panels have the best picture when you use HD. I have mine at home connected the way I mentioned above and it helps out alot. Just in case my cable box is by scientific atlanta or something like that it has 2 up convert modes

I've got a samsung dlp. Even with the tuner, it requires an antenna.

to receive hd from a cable you must have a hd box from your cable provider. its like 5 to 10 a wonth extra. you also need to at least have a digatal cable. you cant get truue hi def on a anolog cable box ron l
