House - the building
Home - the place where you live

A house is just a physical construction...A home has feelings attached to it, a sense of belonging. I may be housed (yes, house can be used as a verb) somewhere, but it's not a home unless I add some emotional aspects to it to make it feel like a home...We say: a house is not a home, and home is where the heart is.

Say house or where I live if it's just like a dormitory or hotel, but say home if you mean the place where I feel attached, comfortable, and at home.

A House is a home which does not seem lived in, making it a lonely place and a Home is a house that is lived in which makes it a pleasure to be living in.

A house is any structure with a floor, 4 walls and a roof. A home is the place you live in, it could even be a tent or a cave.

As the song implies, "a house is not a home when there's no one there to hold you tight, and no one there you can kiss good night... when the two of us are far apart and one of us has a broken heart."

Thus, the word "house" implies the building, while the word "home" implies a place where close family relationships abound and offering security and happiness. Thus, we have phrases such as:

- there's no place like home - because most often than not that's where you're most secure and loved.
- second home - a place other that your own home where you feel secure and accepted.
- home is where the heart is - again, emphasizing the notion that home is where you feel loved, accepted, etc.

House describes the 4 walls and roof that you live within.

Home is a place that you build for yourself, somewhere that you feel safe and secure. You can make a home anywhere, not necessarily in a house but in a flat, a car, a teepee or even in someone else's home.

House refers to something physical (four walls and a roof) while home is more like an environment which includes a place where a family lives at.
For example, my house is painted brown and has a tile roof. I am staying home today instead of going to my class.

Generally a 'house' is a building and a 'home' is where you and your family etc live.

A home can be a flat, a room, a bedsit...even a cave if it is where you live.

A house is not a flat or a room or a bedsit but a particular kind of building.

After work you "go home"......never "go house".

There's a big difference...
A HOUSE is where you and your family just dwell...
But, it is most likely to be called a HOME if the people living there has the so-called harmony, peace, and love for everybody..
...it is where you feel the most comfort than ever..
...it is where you can smile no matter how tired you are...
...it is where you can sleep deeply in the middle of the night...
