For this weekend, keep his eyes clean, using 1 teaspoon of baking soda, in 1 cup of warm water, wash with cotton balls, one for each eye, and wash your own hands immediately..(if you have gloves, it is much safer)
If you have a drug store with an herbal section useColloidal silver.. Use a drop or two in the infected eye, or dilute a few drops in water and use as an eyewash. Colloidal silver is a natural antibiotic and has safely been used for a century.
the cleaner you keep his eyes, the less likely it is to spread..

If you saw green discharge, then that is a sign of Infection! If you don't want your dog to lose his eyesight or possibly his eyes, then you need to get your dog to the vet TODAY! He is scratching his eye, because it's very uncomfortable to him and also very painful to him! Taking him to the vet very, very soon is Not soon enough. He needs a vet TODAY. He needs to have his eye properly diagnosed and treated properly and effectively! Do Not wait on this!!! This has been going on for 1 month already and you should have taken him to the vet a long time ago! You have waited too long already! You are NOT A VET and cannot diagnose your own dog! Only a vet is qualified to do that!

Put a camomile tea bag in some warm water and let it brew for a minute then gently wipe dogies eyes with a cotton pad with the water from the tea bag on.
Hope that helps

Nooka is right, bathe the eyes with tepid salt water and see the vet tomorrow. it is not life threatening so you would be wasting your money and the vets time to call the emergency vet.

Would suggest that you just bathe with boiled, cooled saltwater until you can get the dog to a vet. This should stop any further infection and keep the stickiness to a minimum.

If you can't get Colloidal Silver, then go to the pet store and get Terramycin. It is an antibiotic for the eyes.

No, there isn't. All cities have a 24 hour emergency vet....at least one. Take him there as he will need some sort of ointment for that.
