Soon After David Sossaman began work as an investigator for the San Diego
County welfare-fraud unit, he was told by a colleague that thousands of Mexican
citizens were crossing into Southern California to collect U.S. benefits.
Disbelieving but curious, he drove to the Chula Vista welfare office about
seven miles from the Mexican border and noticed that many of the cars in the
parking lot bore Mexican license plates.
Fluent in Spanish, Sossaman talked with the owner of one car, who confirmed
that his wife was inside applying for welfare using a fictitious San Diego
address. His friends and relatives in Mexico were already drawing checks. It
was easy, they'd boasted, because welfare caseworkers verified neither
eligibility nor citizenship.
When Sossaman confronted a co-worker with what he had witnessed, the man
shrugged."It' s been this way for years,' he said, " It's our dirty little
secret."

The illegal aliens think it is their God Given Right to Rip Off Americans!
Tax illegal aliens for sending U.S. Dollars out of the country.
Senator Arlen Spector of Pennsylvania said on C-SPAN that illegal aliens send $ 39 BILLION DOLLARS out of the U.S. yearly. I heard another statistics that said it was $ 20 BILLION.
The only one benefitting from cheap labor is big business and then they throw them on the American Taxpayer to pick up the bill for food, housing, education, medical! A NO-WIN situation for Americans!!!!!
Illegal aliens have the system figured out. The woman keeps popping out babies for welfare, WIC, food stamps and the man works under the table with stolen American Identities.
They have grandma illegal alien collecting welfare and medicaid and uncle illegal alien living with them paying rent.
The children all 14 of them are getting free lunches, education and a State check. While scoring free bi-lingual classes which doesn't do any good because they will drop out of high school before graduating and will have babies and collect welfare...
All while driving a new car and living in a middle class house driving down the house prices in the neighborhood!
WELL,
I have figured out a way for illegal aliens to become LEGAL Citizens.
Simply march to Mexico and 85% of all illegal aliens will be automatic citizens of MEXICO!
Why? Because they are Citizens of Mexico!!!!!

California's going to have to deal with the fact that it's been a haven for illegal aliens, and change is going to be a bear, and it's questionable whether or not they've got what it takes to turn things around...like the man said, it's been that way for years and years, but they could start by 'turning off the magnet'...shut that welfare office, and it'll start to turn around. Now, welfare's one of those things that gets promoted by the liberals, and the conservatives are usually against it, although their once-firm stance on the issue has gotten kind of rotten over the years...
philosophically, it's a good idea to help your neighbors, but it's also a good idea to tell your neighbors they've worn out their welcome when they try and take the TV and the fine china. And, to my view, that's about where it's at with Mexico. The question needs to be posed as to how much more generosity and leniency needs to be shown to a country that's proven itself all-too-willing to become perpetually dependent on that 'help'. If we're going to have real welfare reform, then the Mexico question needs to be addressed...I forget what the exact figure is, but something like 40% of spending nationwide or MORE is thought to go to entitlement spending. At some point, you DO have to call it 'wealth redistribution', and pull the plug. We don't need socialism in america, nor an 'american union', we already have a Union, the 50 states, but SOME politicians have these ideas, where all 3 countries, Mexico, the United States, and Canada are one big 'happy' family etc. I don't think that's such a hot idea...
I fully believe that Mexico would benefit from a structured assistance plan, but it all needs to take place IN Mexico, where the assistance is needed. What we've got right now is a 'help yourself' foreign aid program with Mexico, an open-ended unlimited opportunity thing, and they're certainly taking advantage of it, all right, far, far beyond anything anyone in their right mind would have intended, though...and the politicians, including the ones in California, have spent a lot of time standing around with their hands in their pockets, not doing much about it...well, now's their Big Chance to demonstrate their unparalleled command of the facts on the issue, and to explain years of gross negligence(apparently intentional and deliberate) on the issue of US/Mexico relations and an at least plausible list of reasons why we're supposed to keep supporting all of this. California's a good case for fiscal reforms anyway, when they run out of money to pay for all their social programs, they hit Uncle Sam for more money, if that's not a free pass to bank-shot taxation on all 50 states to tax and spend at-will in keeping with their administrative whimsy, I'm not sure what is...bottom line is, Mexico needs to support its' own citizenry, and the US/Mexico border needs to be tightened up for a number of reasons, in my view. Hopefully, November will see people in office that are committed to and at least aware of the need for BOTH countries to undergo good reforms that'll prevent any more of that stuff from happening...we need a balanced budget, better borders, and Mexico needs to discover their capacity to be an independent, self-supporting country, instead of a wanna-be 51st state etc...

I believe you. When I newly returned to California and my kids needed immunizations before school, we went to a hospital with an immunization program because we didn't yet have a doctor, and I wasn't working yet. They absolutely wouldn't take my insurance card or a co-pay and made me feel guilty for suggesting they would have to 'go get the forms' to process an actual payment. I don't know the immigration status of the people there, but no one around us spoke English and there were so many people it took hours to get to the front of the line.

I was in the social security office applying for Widows and Survivors benefits when I overheard some undocumented Mexicans obtaining social security numbers for their wives and children. What happened was their employer put them on payroll; if they are having state and federal taxes deducted from their paychecks and are to file taxes, they must have social security numbers for each deduction they claim. They are half way home (to the USA) that is.

what I find astounding is that there have been no less than 5 military incursions into America by Mexico in the past couple of years and nobody seems to be upset. If it were any other country that did that we would term it as grounds for war.

yeah, like it is that easy to just cross the border. And just because they have Mexican plates does not mean they are from Mexico, probably a foreigner.......just cuz you have California plates does not mean your from California, it just means you have been in California at least a year. You never know, it could be an habib.

Don't blame the Mexicans, blame the Mexican government, who is befriended with Bush and considers it an ally. Poor Mexicans ARE CROSSING the border and to collect benefits BECAUSE THEY NEED IT, if not they would stay in Mexico. Just like your damn ancestors FLED Europe to the New World for a better life.
Help BUSH figure out that pressuring other world leaders and making them your puppet will open a window of HELL TO YOUR COUNTRY.
If we are SERIOUS about world peace, and DEMOCRACY, than let's NOT befriend bad leaders who cheats and turns their own people nothing but a poor refugees.
MEXICANS ARE WELCOMED, legal or illegal. You made it to HOME!.. remember that.
