Spinal injuries are very common in Doxies..they will usually resolve in a few weeks on a young dog, but need prescription meds...the sooner he is treated by a vet, the better his chance of full recovery..
A heating pad will help him through tonight..but only if you can keep it set on very low..get him to the vet by morning, even if you have to drive to another town..

GET TO THE VET NOW! I usually don't yell on here, but you really need to get him to a vet if you haven't in the last few hours. As the owner of a dachshund and having had many dachshunds over the years, your dog should be examined by a vet now. He is in excruciating pain. It is most likely a disc in his neck or back that is causing this. If he is "down" in his hind legs, he will most likely need surgery to correct the problem. Cage rest, steroids, and muscle relaxers prescribed by your vet may help. However, if he is showing neurological signs, i.e. his back legs aren't working, he may need surgery.
I am not a vet, but my dachshunds over the years have had problems like this. One of them needed surgery. Unfortunately, it is very common with these little guys. If you need further help with your dachsie, check out this website. If offers loads of info on them.

Good luck!

Get that dog to the vet ASAP!!
If there is not an emergency vet in your area, then do it first thing in the morning.
Please let us know how things turn out.

Oh no !! Please take him to your vet a.s.a.p. It could be a back injury or a spine injury or almost anything. Poor puppy ! Since it is Sunday, take him to your emergency vet that would be open 24 hours. It could be vital !
