I read about some liquor (not mead) which is made with honey or has honey added to make it smoother or a little sweet or both but can't find the reference now. Anyone out there know? This is not an addition to a mixed drink but is in the liquor itself.

Honey is laid down via bees as a nutrition source. In chilly climate or whilst nutrition materials are scarce, bees use their saved honey as their source of potential[11]. via contriving for the bee swarm to make its domicile in a hive, human beings have been in a position to semi-cultivate the bugs. interior the hive there are 3 varieties of bee: the only queen bee, a seasonally variable variety of drone bees to fertilize new queens, and a few 20,000 to 40,000 worker bees[12]. the worker bees develop larvae and assemble the nectar which will become honey interior the hive. They pass out, assemble the sugar-wealthy flower nectar and return to the hive. As they pass away the flower, bees launch Nasonov pheromones. those enable different bees to discover their thank you to the area via scent[13]. Honeybees additionally launch Nasonov pheromones on the front to the hive, which permits returning bees to return to the right hive[13]. interior the hive the bees use their "honey stomachs" to ingest and regurgitate the nectar various circumstances till it quite is in part digested[14]. it quite is then saved interior the honeycomb. Nectar is severe in the two water content fabric and organic yeasts which, unchecked, could reason the sugars interior the nectar to ferment[11]. After the proper regurgitation, the honeycomb is left unsealed. Bees interior the hive fan their wings, springing up a reliable draft around the honeycomb which boosts evaporation of lots of the water from the nectar[11]. The help in water content fabric, which will enhance the sugar concentration, prevents fermentation. Ripe honey, as removed from the hive via the beekeeper, has an prolonged shelf existence and could no longer ferment[11].
