what are lasting affects of the drug gabapentin?

this drug is being taken for trigeminal neuralgia. is this drug addictive.

I'm taking it and so far having no problems with it. I think I know what the problem is. It was fine for me for 2 weeks and then it stopped working.so, I added an extra half pill to my regular amount and it worked - for another 2 weeks. so I think that's why people gradually start taking more which appears to be an addiction.

I've not read nor heard any anecdotal evidence of addiction with gabapentin. As for the long-term affects.....we're still finding out.
