There seems to be a bit of a double standard with this. Older men date younger women all the time, but if a younger guy asks an older woman out, she looks at him like he has three heads. Why is this?

We don't think they're being serious. I started getting the "too bad you're too old" thing at 26! Guys can be real jerks about this, and most of us have been burned on this subject. I have no problem with younger or older, it depends on the person.

Sure older women like younger men. It's just that older men can still have a family with a younger woman and society is more accepting of such a match. That's not always the case with older women/younger men where society thinks of this pairing as merely a sexual relationship. There is a greater trend for OW/YM, but it still has a sort of stigma attached to it. Plus, younger men are bound to wander off to a younger woman....for many reasons, kids, reality setting in that his older gal is 'old'. Just a fact.

Because it is unusual. Guys usually like younger women ( much younger women) and not seldom the older women get kicked for a younger chick.

A woman's beauty fades as she gets older.... and there's that thought in the back of her head that one day she will not be able to compete, while he will be in his best years and looks.

depends on the women i guess. but i would say most women would not go out with a younger guy because his maturity. if he presents himself as mature i would go out with a younger guy. but not to much younger. i'm 37. the youngest guy i dated was in the summer. he was 32. that would be my limit.

Not so sure why. If I was a girl I wouldn't really care so much, but that's just me and a few others I guess.
Generally speaking, I'm guessing its like a taller woman dating a midget sort of thing.

not true my husband is 6 yrs younger than me. hes 22 and im 28. my father in law is also 6 yrs younger than his wife.
