I want to know if its possible to connect my dvd player (this is just a normal dvd player that you use with a TV) to my laptop.
If so, what cable(s) do i need and where do i have to connect it to my laptop?

(BTW: I know its a strange question but the thing is i have an old laptop and it doesnt play dvd's on it and i dont want to spend money on an external dvd rom. In any case my laptop is not for carrying around....i use it as a desktop)

Seriously doubt that you can do it as described.

Does the laptop manufacturer make a DVD drive that you could put in place of your current CD drive?

You could then sell the CD drive on eBay.

It might be less expensive that way than an external DVD player.

It might be possible, but it would require an investment in special interface hardware that would be more expensive than buying a new dvd drive intended for your computer.
