Absolutely nothing is different, the U stands for United States, C for Canada, E for Europe....Sony has been designating the country it is to be sold in because the electronics inside can be "programmed" for various nations.....makes it more cost effective to build One TV chassis, then program it to work properly in whatever nation it is being sold in........

Not sure, best phone Sony UK to check. The uk site lists it without a U. Could be a european model which will not have a Freeview tuner built in. Nearly got caught that way by Pixmania with a Sony DVD recorder. They sell a lot of non UK spec stuff, and you dont find out till its too late!!!
