It is true that Jehovah's Witnesses are not loved by everyone.
http://jw-media.org/newsroom/human_rights.htm
Some people hate Jehovah's Witnesses out of ignorance, or over some misunderstanding. A few may have had a bad personal experience with an individual who claimed to be a Jehovah's Witness, and prejudicially extended their animus to this entire Christian religion.
However, it seems that the majority of anti-Witness hatred is motivated by religious intolerance and bigotry. A few may even be motivated against their Christian worship by the unseen 'god of this system of things', Satan the Devil.
(2 Corinthians 4:4) the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers
Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:
(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.
(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.
(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.
It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

Hey Kiddo, I had a dear friend whose father was a Raiders linebacker. Once he learned about Jehovah God and His precious son Jesus he walked away from his prestigious well paying job due to the materialism and violent nature of the business. You should have seen him, he was this huge hulk of a man at the assemblies scooping out ice cream (when they had ice cream at the district conventions) to all the little ones. Anyhow one day my friend came home from school and found her father dead. He had a heart attack at the tender age of 40. She was crushed, for the longest time she completely withdrew blaming herself, and even blaming God. Nobody could do or say anything to assure her that she had no part of the tragic event. Nobody can tell you now I am sure that "everything is going to be alright" because truth be told as long as you are in this system without him it will never be fully the same. My girlfriend eventually reasoned to me and others that the only thing that brought her back was that she needed to see her father again. She couldn't bear the thought of him being resurrected and her not being on the other side of that tombstone with her arms wide open. Please precious one know that we all want your father to be reunited with you in the very near future. You are taking the right steps, stay strong and don't let the false christians hurt you more then you are already hurting. Agape ( a side note to the hurtful ones that are jumping on and screaming at this poor child about JW's being a cult. What kind of "humans" are you? Do you deliberately find somebody that is utterly weak and attack like that. If I ever had a moment of doubt that the JW's had the true religion all I have to do is come here and see first hand the hatefulness that spews out of so many mouths. It is an everyday occurrence that is so blaringly unjust. Indeed nothing like Jesus, nothing whatsoever.)

Stephanie, you sound like a nice person. I'm sorry if people have been rude to you, but of course people come in all varieties, so some will be nice and some won't.
Although you believe you're going door to door like Jesus did, if you read the Bible instead of the Watchtower, you will find out that Jesus didn't go preaching door to door. He preached publicly and if people invited him to their homes, he would go there also and teach them.
The same thing is true of the apostles. You will not be able to find in the Bible any experiences about the apostles or early Christians knocking on strangers' doors to tell them about Jesus, although you can read about them preaching publicly in marketplaces, etc, and then going to people's homes when invited.
The scriptures that are translated 'house to house' is not 'house to house' in the original Greek, but is 'according to house'. Sometimes it's translated 'in private homes' such as at Acts 2:46 where it says the believers took their meals "in private homes". That is the same expression that is translated "house to house".
In Colossians 4:15 the same expression occurs and is translated "Give my greetings to the congregation "at her house". As you can see, the expression does not necessarily mean 'going door to door" and there is not even one instance in the Bible where Jesus or the apostles went knocking on doors of strangers.
Jesus said 'you will be witnesses of me', Jesus. But even though you believe you are going door to door telling people about Jesus , in truth it's not Jesus you're witnessing for. You are looking for converts to the Watchtower Society in the same way that the Moonies or Hare Krishnas slave for their 'organizations'.
Of course it's not wrong to go door to door, but it's wrong to compel people into spreading man-made teachings and opinions by threatening destruction at Armageddon for not doing it. You may think you aren't spreading man-made teachings, but what does the Society say whenever their prophecies fail? They say "We never claimed we were prophets...that was just our interpretation, our opinion, so we aren't false prophets - that was just human opinion."
I used to be a Witness.
EDITED:
Luke 10:7 - "Do not be transferring from house to house."

Acts 20:20 while I did not hold back from telling YOU any of the things that were profitable nor from teaching YOU publicly and from house to house. 21 But I thoroughly bore witness both to Jews and to Greeks about repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus.
Matt 10:11 “Into whatever city or village YOU enter, search out who in it is deserving, and stay there until YOU leave. 12 When YOU are entering into the house, greet the household; 13 and if the house is deserving, let the peace YOU wish it come upon it; but if it is not deserving, let the peace from YOU return upon YOU. 14 Wherever anyone does not take YOU in or listen to YOUR words, on going out of that house or that city shake the dust off YOUR feet.
Jesus commanded his discipiles not only to go from town to town, but to search out people in their homes.

I am sorry people have been rude towards you. Understand that you might be going to persons door's that have a very strong Christian faith.
I know many Christians who will not let anyone know they are Christians, knock on their door and they will be rude.
I don't agree with you on your faith but I am not rude in any way when I get a knock on my door, I do however share my faith in Christ.

its the same with people of every religion. But MOSTLY, it is because you wake me up at 5:00am to cram your religion down my throat when I am hungover. At least people in other religions let me sleep a little before they bombard me with their garbage :)
Just kidding. MOST people are intolerant of people who are of a different religion, become an atheist, tell em all to screw off!
BUT THE TURHT IS THAT YOU ARE GOING TO THEIR HOUSES AND INVADING THEIR PRIVACY
