The word 'Love' in the bible, particularly the greek word 'agape' which is translated Love, is not a feeling word. It's an action word. It means I should love people(even my enemies) enough to give them the gospel of Jesus Christ, even if they laugh at me or even if they kill me, so that they might accept it and not have to end up lost for an eternity. It does not mean that I have to love Adolph Hitler the way I love my mother or my wife.

fred,
When really down in your heart, Something comes to change you, and you become a new creature in Christ Jesus, you receive the Person, Christ Jesus, when old things die out, and new things are borned again; you make things right, that you did wrong; you love your enemies; you pray for those who despitefully use you. Have you really received something in your heart that makes you love everybody, love your enemies, all the old things is passed and you become new. But I say unto you, Love your enemies...

Well actually no. It is so true, and it doesn't require the bible to teach you that, when you discover unconditional love in you, you learn how to help those who hurt you rather than turn a blind eye. It is so rewarding when can forgive, and learn to help those to love. Seriously, there is no feeling like knowing you can separate the person to the act-see what causes them to act as they do rather than blame them, help them to improve for them, for others.
Just think, the more who can help to teach those who hurt to love, the less that will be hurting, including them.
All we need is love, and in love is forgiveness-in love is everything!

Jesus is teaching us to be humble, and to give unconditional love. Following Jesus will never be easy without humility and obedience to His teachings.
