I did not do good in High School. I'm not good at math, I have to use a calculator to solve the basic division, and multiplication problems. I do other things, and act certain ways. I have always sensed something. I have tried to get help to see if I have a disability like I suspect. What organization should I look into, at my age?

The human brain stops growing at age 25 and information whe learn to that point just repeats it self and it is much more dificult to retain new information, this is scientific crap by the way. Look to be honest at forty is pretty late to seek help but you can make the best of it, pick up some books read them troughly and test your self on what you read from them when you are done. This will give you a pretty good indication if what you need is medical help or if you have a learning disability. Einstein was not good in math in his early life but look how famous he is for solving a very complicate equation that mathematicians could not solve.

My mom was forty five when she found out she had a form of dyslexia that mostly affected math questions. She got help with the problem and got her GED then went onto college. She found out about her learning problem by taking tests that her psychiatrist referred her to. You may want to contact your local mental health clinic and ask them for a referral or your doctor. Also if there is a rehabilitation program they can help you, they did my mom. She went through the texas rehab commission now known as dars department of assistive and rehab services. Good luck!! And remember no matter your age if you want to you can accomplish anything *hugs*
