If he keeps doing that then you might have to take him back to emergency and ask for them to re-check him.

You can also call the hospital back that treated him and let them know what is happening...They can give you some instructions over the phone or they'll tell you if you should bring him back in.

.......Try to get him to lay down for a few minutes and him and eye on him while you call...Worse case dirve him back to the hospital or if it gets really bad call 911.........

He already has been to the doctors or hospital. If they released him he should be fine. People die everyday from being beat up. He could have internal injuries. Seeing a doctor would be the best thing to insure his safety.

But if the doctor released him then stay with him for the next few hours or till morning. The worst should be over.

You're not getting paranoid...You have reasons to worry when he's coughing up blood. If a rib has been fractured and enters a lung without penetrating the chest wall, the wound is known as "closed". The casualty will cough up bright red, frothy blood.. Take him to the hospital now.

If he is coughing up blood, that could mean internal injuries. He was right to get to the doctor as untreated could result in death, especially when he was bleeding from inside. I hope the authorities catch the ones that jumped him and lock them away for a long time.

Make him go back to a doctor (a different one). If you can take him to the ER asap. This is not normal. It sounds like there is internal bleeding happening.
If there is I can't see why they would just send him home. And yes, if it is bad enough, it could be deathly. It the lungs fill with blood, it would basically be like drowning.
I really, really can't see why they would just send him home, did they even do any x-rays or tests?
Is it possible that he didn't actually go and just told you that he did?

Hey , just dont things lightly . Just ask him to go to DOC again ...
and do a internal body scan to make sure there are no internal injuries. Its very important to do this....
Also , its common in hit cases to cough blood , although its nto dangerous it cud be fatal if not properly taken care of . So rush him to a hospital and do a thorourgh scan.

Go to the Er if you are that worried...If its red blood...its probably not internal or in his stomach. If it looks like coffee grounds that is a serious problem. He should still go to the Doctor though....to make sure he isn't bleeding internally.

Coughing up blood is never a good thing. Go the doctor with him.

Is it bright or just pinkish? If there is bright red blood, he should be in the hospital. If pink it is mixed with phlegm or mucus but is still bleeding - not as urgent but still should be watched. Is he having trouble breathing? Is his pulse rapid - faster than 100 per minute? If yes to either one, he should go to ER.

people die all the time from internal bleeding go to a real doctor who can run the proper tests and do not let them release him until he has had a body scan.
