lol. Ahh, the pleasant memories!
Well, here's one suggestion: Have your friend pass him a note indicating that he has a secret admirer and ask if he has a gf or a date for the dance. Provided he doesn't, he'll want to know who the secret admirer is. When he finds out, if he likes you too, he'll ask. If he doesn't, you have "deniability" just in case!
'Hope it helps and good luck!

Little trick I did in the past... Ask your friend to come to your desk, and when the guy you interested noticing it, start whispering, a bit loud so he could heard it... say something, "I wish Peter/David (fill in the name you like) would ask me out for the dance." and look back at him and smile... If he's interested, he would make a move and be shy.. If not interested, you might see a frown or some funny face of disgust... If so move on..
However, don't do it too loud that everyone will hear.. then it will definitely turn him off.. and make you look very easy

ok, cute guy sits in the OPPOSITE side of your exsistance, and this sucks because now you have to make a conscious effort for him to get to talk to you. obsticle is, get in his territory and talk to him. ONE, you need to just wait until (class, work?) is over and walk up to him. you need to be planning this as you guys are in session so it wont look last minute or look like youre running to ctach up with him. ask him "hey have you ever went to XXXX school, cause i sware ive seen you from there." hes gonna say no, but dont le him get away. say something like, but not exactly " haha man I feel like a dork, i really dont walk up to people like this unless i really think i know them, Im shy" and take it from there. the hardest thing about approaching a guy is keeping him talking to you. if you ask vague questions, hes bound to give you vague answers. laugh, sneak a little flirt in there, etc. GIRL im telling you i will never let another cute guy pass that is working with me, etc. GOod luck!

So you normally ignore these guys, but now the dance is coming you don't want to be the only girl who doesn't get asked?
It could be too late.

Ask the guy you find cute to the dance. Own your power girl. This is the 21st century!

what u need to do is just go up to the guy and say what up and ask him how his week is going so far and then ask him about the dance...who he's taking?...or if he'd even going at all? and see what happens from there.
Good Luck!

I am going throught the same thing. In the past I learned that boys are shy too. They act hard but really they are shy. So you should just go up to him and tell him how you feel.If you do that he will tell you how he feels, and he could feel the same.

Ask help with your school work, it's a good convo starter. If they can help just go along with the help, if they can't help, just start a conversation about how the school work is such a drag or something.

i used to be shy too. just start smiling at him and then talkin to him a bit, and casually ask if he's goin to the dance or anything... you could just ask him out and then you'll obviously know whether he likes you back or not.

Catch his eye, then give him a BIG smile and a TINY wave. If he doesn't ask you after that, he isn't interested or he is too shy to function.
