you have nobody left?
after the hurricane my mom my only family moved half way across the country.
i am a grown adult i never realized how much i needed her
i miss her but i am not ready for a life changing move...
whats worse is the holidays are approaching and her bday is on christmas--and her granddaughter-my daughter thinks her maw maw is a telephone!!!!

well i dont actually have a computer at home but that webcam idea was really an orginal thought i really like that i may just invest in a home pc thanks!!!!

it is never easy when the whole family has moved away....but you can stay in touch and talk each day thru the comuter...use ur webcam so maw maw can see the baby and the baby can see her...i found that when my sister moved away it was easier for me as i could see her and talk to her whenever i want thru the webcam...not the same as having them there but at least u get to see them....and gram will love be able to see the baby grow....take lots of pictures to send to gram...have gram send pics to u...

This is a great example of you don't know what you've got til it's gone. Try to save and plan a trip to go see them. You and your daughter both deserve that and need to see your family as often as you can. I agree that you should surround yourself with family photos and write or call often and show your child pics of Mawmaw. That way she will recognize her when she sees her. It's hard to be away from family but know that they will always be there for you even though they are far away. Eventually you may decide to make the move closer to your family. You may find it would be worth it to have your family close by.

write letters the old fashioned way and keep lots of pictures of family around the house. you could teach your daughter that maw maw is a picture of your mom.

Well, that is when you go "visiting". You can spend some quality time with your family and cherish the memories. You know what they say, you will realise someone's worth after they leave. If you arent happy at all, then you can move too... after all family is everything.

wow, that is hard..and i bet you are feeling pretty anxious about the holidays...why dont you take some time off and go visit. that way you can get those two together...or buy her a ticket to come and visit you...
