You know, when you open a soft drink eg Coke, Pepsi, whatever, and you can't finish it, then you decide to leave it in the refrigerator and come back to it later and YUCK! it tastes like crap because there's no more CO2 in it left. How do you retain the "freshly-opened" taste?

Also, if it's in a bottle and you cap it after drinking, when you open it majority of the gas escapes and the drink still tastes like crap. Any ideas?

Hi,
You can by a plastic screw on pump.
What it does is when you take off the lip you screw this back on instead. Then on top of it, is a pump leaver, you pump in a half a dozen times or so and it puts pressure back onto the bottle. I bought mine at Kmart. Its called a fizz keeper, this site shows you what it looks like.

Finish the bottle as soon as it is opened, gas cannot be stopped from escaping.

If you buy the plastic bottles, when you put them in the refrigerator, turn them upside down, and that helps keep them fresh..
