1) pinking of the nipples, starts about 15-18 days after mating, most noticeable in first-time queens

2) palpation: as early as 14 days, but most easily between 25-30 days (when the fetuses are about 1 inch
in size)

3) x-rays: best between days 38-49 when bony development in the fetuses is mature enough to
show up

4) ultrasound: about 99% accurate at 28 days, can be used as early as 14 days; also has the advantage of
detecting heart beats and so determining if the fetuses are viable

The average gestation period for a cat is 65 days.

I'm guessing "wait and see" is out of the question? Is it a big problem if she is pregnant?

When my previous cats were pregnant I noticed the nipples becoming more pronounced and her not liking her belly being rubbed like she did before.

Here's what a google search turned up...

Pregnancy in cats lasts about nine weeks, but during the first half of that time a typical expectant cat gives few clues that she is pregnant. She hunts, rests, and generally behaves normally.

Under the influence of progesterone, the hormone of pregnancy, and with an ever increasing weight in her abdomen, she soon moderates her behavior, gradually reducing her activity level and resting more.

If you think your cat might be pregnant, the first check her nipples. These become more prominent and pinker by three weeks of gestation. By four to five weeks after conception, your vet will be able to feel golf-ball sized swellings in her abdomen. At this time the developing fetuses are usually quite easy to count. Shortly afterward, her belly becomes a visibly enlarged.

A cat's pregnancy lasts about 9 weeks.
My cat had kittens a few years ago... and it was one of the best experiences of my life!! i swear!!
The kittens are the cutest, most adorable and lovable things in the world.

You should notice a growth of the cat's stomach. And her teets with grow...
Also, she'll start acting strangely, like searching the house for a good place to have her kittens. So you might find her in random cupboards or nooks and crannies that she would normally never enter. I found my cat awkwardly stepping through our cupboard where we keep our pots and pans... not the best spot to give birth...

It'll probably take a month before you notice anything.

Lol i actually found my cat outside with her mate... they weren't doing anything dirty... She was just rolling on the ground looking happy and he was sitting in the chook position looking grumpy.

Anyway good luck - and find good homes for the kittens if your cat actually is pregnant!!

Nipples will be very errect, and you should be able to feel the kittens when your can is about half way through her pregnancy, about 31 days. Otherwise don't stress let nature take its course and she should have had them 63 days later!
