If they stay at each store one week and have 3 people in each store to install the computers.

500/20 = 10 stores per week (so we need 30 people to install them each week)

50 (weeks) * 30 (people to install) * $3000 (cost to install per week)= $4,500,000.00

For a company that has 500 location, would that be too much to install computers?

Its a school thing, not a real thing. What would be the best way to charge someone for installing 1000 computers (two for each site, one in each state) is the length and the number of people can be changed?

Thanks so far! Is this a more realistic number:

50 stores, 50 weeks, 10 stores per week
2 total on a team, 20 total people working each week,$1,200.00 each person receives

(20*$1200*50) =
$1,200,000.00 Total cost to install

Break it down.

C = # of Computers per store.
T = Time to Install a Computer
H = Total Hours per store
C * T = H

Now don't forget to factor in travel costs. With your current plan, you've got people who have to travel and do 2 stores per day. Is this really possible to accomplish (make note that not every store is going to be a perfect up and running on the first try. As unfortunate as it is hang ups do and will happen and should be planned for.

Now factor the cost to you. 30 people's hourly (based on whatever you came up with above) + Travel Expenses + Any living expenses (travel/food/whatever else).

Then mark it up to a reasonable yet just barely over the top rate.

Wish you were able to give more information about the company/etc. I'd probably just have 25 qualified people go out and hire locals to do the easy stuff it wasn't something too complicated. Would save you a bunch of money on travel expenses etc. Have the 25 guys go by local tech shops and see if anyone wants to make quick cash. You'd get things done a lot quicker too. 500/25 = 20 stops per employee and you've got 50 weeks to do it. The locals do temp work at a cheap rate say $7.50/hr or whatever you consider cheap.

Just an idea, poke around and prod with it. IE 30 instead of 25 using 2 supervisors per trip etc.

Good luck, hope you get something out of my spent creative energy.

Weren't you the lady who'd asked, earlier, what was the best discount you could get for bulk buying of Computers?

Whom I'd advised to negotiate for 40 %?

Well, the question is how many computers are we talking about?

3,000$ for one computer installation is ridiculously high!

So, what are the numbers per retailer, that you're talking about?

Four and a half mill shouldn't be too much for a Company having Offices in 500 locations; but they are not going to part with that kind of money for nothing and something over-priced, if you know what I mean.

All the best.

Cheers.

depends on

A) how much they need these computers

and

B) how much money they make in the first place.

Might be too much for Dairy queen, but to microsoft, it's a drop in the bucket.
