What do you think about the goverment not letting those in america do anymore online gambling? I think it is crap and it is peoples money and they should be aloud to do it if they want.
I think the only reason why they are doing it is cause they arent getting alittle cut out of the money and that it's base for the websites are in other countries.

I agree, and it does suck a lot. But i play on poker-stars and i have not had any problems yet. I use net teller for my poker needs and never on a credit card. The government just wants its cut of the action, so they are clapping down on us.

I've done a full article reviewing the details of the so-called "Internet Gambling Ban". The page includes a link to all sites allowing American players.

I don't know why they're doing this but its not all about the taxes. They talked to one of the major online gambling companies over in London and they said they had offered the US several times to get into the scene. They said they would abide by all their sanctions and give them the taxes from US players but the US gov turned it down.

One of the reasons the bill got approved so quickly is that it was a rider on some terrorism/border safety bill.

I agree completely with your opinion and think everyone would be best served if online gambling were legalized and taxed appropriately. I would love to see major casinos opening their own online sites. It would be wonderful for the online player.

I read something about the effect of Internet gambling on Indian and state gambling and the power of their lobby in Washington DC bringing this law to us all.

I agree with you on why they are doing it, but really there's still plenty of places to play if you are an American.
