If the draft is re instituted, it should be 21 to 22, all men and women eligible must serve 2 years.

But, congress would never allow such a thing, because they want to protect the "girls" and they want fresh, really young, unthinking and impressionable "boys" to make men out of them.

In reality, the last drafts were started for men only, between the ages of 18 and 26. In WWII this was changed to 18 to 45. In Vietnam it was changed to 18-1/2 to 26-1/2.

Currently, only men need to register for the draft, in case it is re-constituted, so there will be a list of men and their ages and addresses available to the government.

Right now, the law requires all male US Citizens, and all male foreign residents of the US to register for the draft if they are between the ages of 18 and 26. Male students in the US on Student Visas are NOT required to register.

So, if there is a draft, it will be male, 18 to 26 years of age.

Remember: You cannot legally drink liquor, but you can be drafted and killed!

If I were young enough, I would oppose this kind of draft!

Also, the current limits on enlisting in the Armed Forces are from age 17 to 42. That is now, the Department of Defense can raise or lower that anytime.

It is no longer legal to split up the gender so that don't matter. As far as what age range, you can bet it will always start at 18 and go up to a what ever age needed to get the number of troops required. If you just need a one million person army then set the age group from 18 to 21. If you need 5 million troops set the age group from 18 to 25. It depends on how many people are 18 at the minute. If there are enough to get the number of troops required then the it will be limited to 18 years old.

Only males are required to register... so I'm going out on a limb and say MEN... age range will probably top off at 25, and then go higher as needed... near the end of WWII they were drafting men in their forties...

The draft for what new warfare? Africa? i'm going to guess China does no longer ideas looking after that for us. Obama seems extra no longer at risk of get us deeper in contact in wars than McCain could. it somewhat is going to be exciting to work out if we get rapid consequences in this election. i'm assuming the delegates will somewhat call this election appropriate away besides?
