when i was made godfather to my younger cousin 15 years ago, i was in fact a practicing satanist. i did mention this to my auntie and uncle at the time but i dont think they were listening. when asked during the christening ceremony if i renounced satan i replied no but the minister just carried on. does this in any way compromise my position as godfather?

Yes. You cannot be the child's godfather as the whole point of the godfather is that you are responsible for the child's Christian education. What were you thinking, although as you're a satanist I suppose you don't care about the child or anyone else.
If you have any decency at all you will come clean to the child's parents immediately, better late than never.

I don't think you understand what a Godfather is. That is an hourable role that can only really be fulfilled by a man of God.
You are on the other hand cannot really fulfill that role, and as you worship the biggest jerk in history I don't really see how you can call yourself a Godfather.
By the way you do realise that Satan lost at the cross don't you? He actually hates your guts, and uses satanist because he just wants slaves. You must be mad.

AS SATAN was created by the Creator of ALL things and assigned the job of tempter of the human soul away from the teachings and laws of the Creator . This could be a future problem. When they are old enough to start asking questions( the hard honest ones that their good at asking).or if you do have to take care of them because of the death of the parents.the courts could rule that that makes you an unfit parent and give the child to someone else.
The only good thing in your favor is that you were honest and nobody raised any objections.

Satanism is a moral religion, there is no reason you cannot be a moral-father to her any less than a godfather is supposed to be. Remain involved in the child's life and teach her the basis of morality the best you can.

I do not think so if you love the child and would care for them at 15 they may not need it now but you should not have been accepted as a god perant as one of the responsibilitys is to help bring the child up as a christian

It does not affect your status as godfather if you have repented and now believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior.
Otherwise - you're toast.
