If there is music during the mass, is the mass still valid?
The real question is there a mass that makes you feel more comfortable? One without the tambourines.

Why would a tambourine matter? Its a musical intrument that I would imagine someone is using to create music that supports your belief. I don't recall any limits on sounds that support the word of god. Again, why would a certain instrument matter? The only instrument that I've ever heard of that people worried about was the sax back in the early 1900's and even then it was a ridiculous accusation.

Various kinds of music can be offered as praise to God, and therefore various kinds of music are appropriate at Mass. If the principle instrument in the organ, I wouldn't expect tambourine accompaniment. But if the principle instruments are guitars, then of course. Why not?

I really like it when we have the salsa band at Mass.
I say a tambourine is as good as any other musical instrument!
