That's his opinion only! Obviously he has the right, but I suggest you do a little research and make your own decisions on the matter. I can't understand why Christians dislike Buddha so much. He was a great man like jesus.

Alright... You already have a few answers but i hope this will help - You obviously go to a Christian church now, so therefore you are asking a Christian question - Have you ever heard "don't buy diamonds from a brick layer"? Don't ask a Christian question to non-Christian folks. Some on here are even atheistic...
Here is your answer - Going by the Bible!:
Exodus 20:3-5 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (4) Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: (5) Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;...
Now first lesson is to take all of this in context - So taking it in context; what does it say? YOUR PASTOR is correct.
Anything or anyone that is exalted above the one true God is 1) causing distraction, 2) evil in the sight of God and 3) Going to cause you or anyone else to miss out on the benefits of having full faith and belief in God.
Don't mess around with other stuff or idols... (By the way, this is not the only scripture that talks about such things) it will only cause you grief. Stick with the Lord - Follow hard after the Spirit and the Word and you will be satisfied!

Alot are and a lot are just made up.Some are great men that were deified, like Oden(Norse God),Hercules (Shem of the Old Testament)The Sun God Ra(Nimrod of the O.T.).Then some were to passify the Demons that tormented these ancient people.Buddha was a real guy,an Indian ,who sought the 8 fold path.
Even Paul says "We know an Idol is nothing but to those who worship it ,it is a Demon. You can't eat at the table of the Lord and Demons too."

Well, fallen angels are now called demons, as they no longer are worthy of the title angel. So, yes, the bible calls them evil.

Now as for the others, the bible does not mention them. So, evil, i do not know. They would simply be someone or something that fleshly man has given worth to above their own creator, that would make the fleshly man and men and women who worship the creation , rather than the creator misguided at best, but would not make the object itself evil unless it said it was God instead of a creation of God.

i couldn't be the judge of that, but it makes a lot of sense to me that it would be wrong for us to almost "worship" the ground our mortal "idols" walk on, including actors and musicians. How can we give these rich people stuff for FREE?? how can their opinion and reaction to serious matters be so important? to actually care more how they go to these countries in need and give them any attention than about the actual problem that country faces must come from some root of evil. As for any other god, it is said in the bible to worship any other god is wrong.

No. Buddha is a symbol of another religion with different beliefs. How do we know different religions aren't really the same thing just from a different area. People who are isolated from each other won't come up with exactly the same thing, but yet it's all the same concept.

One of the ten commandments. Thou shall have no others Gods before me. Yes, all should not be worshipped. All these mentioned can not get you to heaven.

Did your pastor get a formal education, or did he just get appointed as pastor? he might want to read up on the bible, and God because he sure didn't learn that crap in any divinity school, seminary or comparative religions class.

If you wish to believe your pastor, then you know the answer. But if in your heart of hearts you do not believe these things to be 'evil', then they are not.
