Go to your local beauty and hair products store. Show them how your hair gets and maybe they can help you find product that best suits you.

I have ultra dry hair too. Infusium leave in spray conditioner works well (in addition to a small amount of your regular rinse out conditioner) and Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine shampoo (the conditioner for my hair doesn't condition as well as others but the shampoo is awesome!), I find it helps my hair feel moisturized and smooth as compared to a bunch of dry straw before conditioning. Conditioner I use in the shower is the stuff that comes with haircolor. Its one of the few that I can use that makes my hair feel really well moisturized.

Also do you have well water...or hard city water? That will add to the feeling of dryness. Our water here is full of minerals and we get hard water mineral deposits on everything. The best way to help with that is some vinegar for a rinse and then rinse it completely out with water (your hair won't smell like vingear once its dry...but make sure you rinse it good). A small amount of baking soda added in your hand to the shampoo you use will help too. It acts as a water softener and will help rid any buildup you have as well. Do that once or twice a week.

You need to use a moisture-rich conditioner. Sometimes simply using conditioner won't do the trick, it has to be a conditioner specially designed for your hair type. It sounds like you should look for something with "for dry and damaged hair" on the label.

Make sure the shampoo is also for this hair type. The shampoo and conditioner doesn't have to be the same type.

My favorite conditioner is currently "Kolestral Intensive Conditioner". It makes hair silky, and gives it shine.

you may want to trim maybe if its just a certin part of your hair like the ends,
or you can use v05 its a small tube i used it when i went to hawaii and it work good also maybe it's your shampoo a really good shampoo and condiitioner for damage/ loss of, dry hair is mane n tail i used it cause my hair always fall out and during my post op after 2 kids it work great it was healthy and grew fast too you find it in the pets section at walmart they may have it in the regular shampoo lane.
if that doesn't work i used to put baby oil in my hair leave it for a day very very greasy but my hair came out very soft.
also do you wash your hair every day more then once too??
if so you may want to wash once every other day because you wash your hair condiotiner that it already has sort of your hands you wash your hands so many times after a while they very crack and dry and have to use extra morti. lotion

Garnier Fructis and Pantene Pro V are VERY BAD for your hair they give you really bad split ends. The non professional brands that are good for your hair are L'Oreal and Tremmesse they both started in Salons. When you blowdry your hair use a heat tamer and use a leave in conditioner once a week.

Leave the conditioner in for a long time. dont shampoo every day. it sounds gross, but it gets rid of the oil that keeps your hair nartualy soft if you shampoo too ofter. garnier fructis has deep conditioner, and I swear it can get rid of dreadlocks and turn them into beautiful locks

Redken All Soft deep conditioner is a good one to use daily. Also, weekly deep conditioning or hot oil treatments can help as well.

You need to use shampoo and conditioner. I use Garnier Fructis. Ane sometimes I use Suave. Those brands are the best I think.

try using a hot oil treatment while you condition your hair! Leave it in for 20 to 30 min!

Good old fashioned mayonnaise. Not too much though. Just enough to coat it and wrap it up in a towel for a few hours and wash, rinse and condition.
