I don't think it's possible (legally). Cars are test driven and some are driven to the dealership. If a car has 0 mileage, I'd be suspicious.

When a dealer recieves a batch of new cars, they are all supposed to get inspected and test driven before being cleaned and polished before going on the show lot. The cars should have at least a few miles on them. They also get driven out of the manufacturing facility out to parking lots and then get driven on the delivery truck. If a car has less then 1 mile on the odometer, someone is pulling a fast one, or the odometer wasn't working properly when it left the factory.

Something is up. Granted, a brand new car should have next to no miles on it, but it is still driven off of the assembly line to shipping areas. From there is is driven onto a truck to be delivered, and finally driven off of a truck and on the car lot somewhere.

Granted, it may not be great distances, but you would figure a car would have a mile or two on it anyways.

No. Think about it. If the car is brand new, then that means that possibly no one has test driven it before and that the car was delivered by trucks that tow the car since it is new rather than driving it.

Why would it be illegal?? Its just like preserving it.

I would think it would be unusual. But first, I would check to see if you're looking at the odometer or the trip odometer. My guess is that you're looking at the trip odometer as it is VERY unusual to have 0 miles on the actual odometer unless it is malfunctional.

Most of the "new" cars I buy have at least 3 miles on them. Most often at least 20.

I would think it would be questionable. All new cars are test driven. If a car had zero millage, you would assume that ht speedometer had been set back.
