...my toast that I am writing for my best friends wedding. Its just the rough draft, so any constructive criticism or opinions are welcome. Thanks so much!

Jenni and I go way back to our first day of 7th grade. I was the new kid in town, and terrified. There I was, trying to disappear, when she turned to me in the desk behind her, and with a that big grin of hers, said "Hi!!! I'm Jenni!". That was nearly 10 years ago, and in that time, she has grown to be the best friend I have ever had, and will ever have. Shes the kind of person who was there for me, even when I didnt deserve it. She is the ultimate example of a friend. We used to talk endlessly into the night about life, and of course... boys. On more than one occassion, she told me she didnt think she would ever get married. I told her "No way. One day, you are gonna meet a guy stubborn and smart enough to not let you go." Years later, I was thrilled to be proven right when Cody told me of his plans to propose.

Just the look in his eyes told me that I need not worry about my friends heart any longer. Its in good hands. You will have hard times, wonderful times, and even boring times. But speaking from experience, I know that Jenni is one of the most fun people to be bored with! So, Cody, you are a blessed man. JenBen, I love you, and I can tell he does too. Thankyou for sharing your joy with us all today. May the incredible love you are feeling right now, grow to be 100 fold as we toast you again on your golden anniversary. To Jenni and Cody!

hey, this is way too long and way too much about YOU for a wedding toast, okay? edit, edit, edit!

try something like this: Jenni and I have been best friends for nearly 10 years; she's someone very special and I have always known she would wait for just the right husband-Jenni would never "settle". Cody-the look in your eyes everytime you see Jenni is proof positive that her wait was well worth it. I need not worry about my friends heart-it is in good hands. You will have hard times, wonderful times, and even boring times. But speaking from experience, I know that Jenni is one of the most fun people to be bored with! So, Cody, you are a blessed man. JenBen, I love you, and I can tell he does too. Thank you for sharing your joy with all of us today. May the incredible love you are feeling right now, grow to be 100 fold as we toast you again on your golden anniversary. To Jenni and Cody!

best wishes,
cryllie

That is far too sickly, say something simple like " Jenni is a great friend and I would like you all to join me in wishing her & Cody joy as they start this wonderful journey of love together. Keep it short and sweet because unless you are a great orator people will become bored with waffling.

I agree with Cryllie. A little more about Jenni and Cody. But cute story.

DO NOT SHORTEN OR CUT! This is very moving and will not take too long to say. She chose you for a very special part of her wedding day and you can speak as long as you want. (ok, I cried when I read your speech)
