An old man and woman. When they had a fight, screams and yelling could be heard deep into the night.A constant statement was heard by the neighbors who feared the man the most... "When I die I will dig my way up and out of the grave to come back and haunt you for the rest of your life!"
They believed he practiced black magic and was responsible for missing cats and dogs. He was feared and enjoyed the respect it garnished.
He died abruptly under strange circumstances and the funeral had a closed casket. After the burial, the wife went straight to the local bar and began to party as if there was no tomorrow. Her neighbors approached in a group to ask these questions:
Are you not afraid? Concerned? Worried? that this man who practiced black magic and stated when he died he would dig his way up and out of the grave to come back and haunt you for the rest of your life?
The wife put down her drink and said. . .
"Nah... let the old man dig. I had him buried upside down!"

Yes, all you people are right. I should have removed the black magic part and some other parts. Sorry!

HILARIOUS, but i was too long and waaay to much uneeded info.Your version: 3 My version: 10
A very old couplefought all the time. One night, the neighbors heard the old man yell at the woman. "When I die I will dig my way up and out of the grave to come back and haunt you for the rest of your life!" The next day he died in a horrible accident. The wife's neighbors approached her and asked her if she was worried the man would actually come back to haunt her. She calmly replied "Nah... let the old man dig. I had him buried upside down!"
That makes so much more sense and keeps the reader hooked throughout the whole joke. I deleted the uneeded parts that makes readers yawn. and change wierd statements (died under strange circumstases) into exiting ones (horrible accident). Great Halloween joke. i suggest saying it to peers MY way. I gaurentee you lots of laughs,
PS: THE BLACK MAGIC PART AND DOG AND CATS, AND PARTYING HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE JOKE, so i just took that part out.

It's pretty funny, maybe leave out the part about the black magic. It doesn't really add anything. I'd give it a 7.

That's funny. But don't forget that some of the dead are so appalled by the things they "see" and "hear" after they're gone that they "turn over in their graves". Frightening, huh? ( If that were to happen, he would then be in a position to make good on his word! ).

haha it was funny but too long and complex a joke deosnt need so much of a story, i think if you turned that joke into a short story instead of a joke it might be really cool, i was enjoying reading it untill the punchline (which was funny) but i was dissapointed that it ended right there.you could continue from there and tell a story. you might be a storywriter rather then a joke writer.

Too many details and it's not original. I've heard the same punch line before but with a shorter and better joke. 2.5 out of 10.

Mildly funny. Yes, it could've been condensed and gotten to the punchline quicker. 5/10
