My husband and I are going to be travelling in March/April, and looking for the best time for cool mornings and not-so-hot afternoons. I was there in October last year for the clean up, and it was awesome. But we're planning for March-April, because we have yet to schedule our vacation time at work, and it's around our anniversary.

Also, since I'm asking, does anyone know the age in Louisianna when you can rent a car?

And third---does anyone know the name of the haunted hotel outside of the city? My husband is obsessed with it since we saw the episode of Ghost Hunters. I need to find the name, because he insisted on going to visit it.

The legal car rental age is 25. The only haunted hotel I can think of off the top of my head is the Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville, which is about 2 1/2 hours away from N.O. give or take. The coolest time of year is Nov. - Mar.

March is cooler than April but it still is fairly warm. There is lots of sun during the day. I wouldn't say the mornings are cool though,
Go to NOLA.com and check there for the haunted hotel as I am not familiar with it since I don't watch ghost hunter shows.

Right now they'd probably rent a car to anybody with two nickels to rub together given the economic conditions in that city right now. Most likely though the age is 21.
