Only Illegals are unwelcome. I don’t see anyone posting anything about against legal Latinos

One can only assume that by 'lantinos' you mean 'latinos'. I don't know that they are "hated so much". By whom? Where? When? I grew up in a small city with a very large 'Latino' population, either Mexicans or Mexican-americans, both legal and illegal. While xenophobia and racism are a large part of Amerikan history and mindset, it does not seem that Latinos are particularly 'hated', except by very ignorant people. The unfortunate attacks of 9/11 have given a disgraceful green light for ignoramuses to ressurect so much of the hatred and intolerance that people in the fifties and sixties worked so hard, even giving their lives, to eradicate. Since 9/11 the 'stupid white guy' ethic, seen in everything from Larry the Idiot Cable Guy, to cuntry western music,to NASSCAR, and now the border watching Minutemen have made it 'cool' to play the dumb white guy, croaking about everything from Islam to Vicente Fox to Hugo Chavez, voicing their opinions in a sort of good ol' boy mumbling of dumbass aphorisms and trite generalizations. Just stop and let people live. The southwestern part of this nation have been and will be really part of Mexico, or Aztlan, for centuries. Just live with it. Remember, property is theft.

I'm pretty sure it's spelled 'latino', and I'm not entirely sure what a latino is...and that's the gag: What's happened, over the years, is that the illegal aliens from Mexico have stood right behind the american hispanics, trying to pass themselves off as legal, and then when someone asks 'have you seen anyone coming in illegally from mexico' it's 'no habla englais, sorry'...

As far as hate, it's more like frustration finally being expressed with Mexico's poor partnership on the border, lack of any observance for various and sundry laws, and the reality that social services etc. in the United States are being overtaxed to provide for mexican citizens AND others that feel like plonking themselves down in the United States without regard for anything so much as a green card.

Mexico's got social problems, their social problems are becoming our social problems, and america already had social problems before they decided to move in en masse. Kind of sounds like a recipe for trouble...and yes, more than a little of it is deliberate, on their part...Vincente Fox was handing out 'how to sneak into the United States illegally' guides...so, in other words, the US/Mexico border fence is a good step. Mexico's domestic policy just can't continue to be 'move to the United States. They need to fix their own country. That's going well(not), if you read the news....

lantinos don't have their own identity, they don't speak latin, so who are they? Oh right they speak spanish of sorts. So why are they not refered too as spanitos? Latinos are only hated when they interfear with the quality of life of others. IE: Respect the traditions and beliefs of others, and they will respect those of yours. Some one may not agree with a latinos life style, but as long as it is not intruding on others it is fine. Love and Hate is a two-way situation, look at both sides, and be respectful of all.

Perhaps there is a small, uneducated group of white people who hate Mexicans...I guess that would be your "lantinos", for no logical reason. Legal or illegal, its fear of brown faces. Stick around gabacho and get used to it.

I never see that. I am from southern AZ and I am caucasion. I do think that the old timers get more respect than the new. But I beleive that all races are having the same problem. As for Illegals.. lets stop employers from not filing tax papers on the workers.

i don't think its the whole race that's hated but an individual or certain individuals of that race who have committed despecable & unlawful acts. usually these are just minorities of that race who, unfortunately cast a bad image for the majority. this results in stereotyping & to some extent, profiling.
i am not latino but i think to say "latinos are hated so much" is not true. as in all other races, some may be unwanted or hated, as you say. cheer up. do good.feel good. have a great day.

Latinos... are well respected if they come legally to the United State and assimilate in the culture, speak English and respect the rules and laws of the land.

Lantino, the illegal aliens aren't respected and are loathed for taking advantage of the system and becoming burdens on society and committing crimes!

There are a number of reasons for racism.
- Inability to speak the predominant language in the country of your residence causes suspicion and intolerance.
- Cultures which are predominately poorer than the norm often engage in desperate and socially unacceptable practices in order to survive. Thievery, drug sales, and prostitution are some, and this causes distrust and hatred. Illegal infiltration into the country is another example of poverty driven, but nontheless illegal, behavior.

There are still segments of the African American group that are disliked and distrusted because of some of the same reasons.

In the 'white' ethnnic group, we certainly have our share of 'trailer trash', thieves, welfare cheats, and dope pushers. But it is seen that the greater number of people conform to the norms of society.

When people from these cultural groups adhere to the law, become educated, and progress within the system, they achieve acceptance on a personal basis, and in time -if the cultural subgroups progress broadly - the group will earn acceptance as well.

Think of people like Colin Powell, Alberto Gonzales, and others from racial minorities who have risen to positions of great national stature.

I'm getting tired of uneducated people making statements.... Illegals are not wanted.. what does that have to do with Latinos... if you feel that America is racist, then go somewhere else, and stop posting stupid statements that you have no clue about. Keep in mind that the majority of Hispanic people voted against the amnesty

Latinos aren't hated just mexicans.Yet again most on here think all latinos are mexican. And though I would like to think that some don't hate latinos but truly just dislike illegals the truth of the matter is that others do hate them and use the immigration debate to spread their hatred out more without fear of anyone saying anything and getting even getting praise in the process.I guess that's why I admire neo nazi groups like the KKK at least with them you know where you stand.well hope this answered your question.
