The safest and best that I know of is the common dandelion, since it provide potassium to your body.
Quote:
Dandelion is a natural diuretic that increases urine production by promoting the excretion of salts and water from the kidney. Dandelion may be used for a wide range of conditions requiring mild diuretic treatment such as poor digestion, liver disorders, and high blood pressure. One advantage of dandelion over other diuretics is that dandelion is a source of potassium, a nutrient often lost through the use of other natural and synthetic diuretics.
But I wouldn't eat the ones out of your yard if you and your neighbors spray for weeds. You want it to be from an organically grown source that is free of contamination and pesticides. You can easily buy it in capsule form at your local health food store. Many of them also sell organic dandelion greens in the produce section which you can toss into a salad (The flavor is somewhat bitter though.)

If you are talking medicine with a perscription, Lasix is the best, but depletes your potassium levels. Don't try to lose excess water without a physicians treatment plan. You can run into alot of trouble trying to do this yourself.

You should read "The Blood Pressure Solution" (also available in electronic format, watch the video presentation here: http://www.fixbloodpressure.com ) It's a very comprehensive step-by-step book that walks you through the natural remedies of high blood pressure. It provides you with a lot of information on what foods to eat, how you can acquire and prepare these foods, how you can change your lifestyle for the better, how to eliminate the toxins from your body, how to reduce stress, how you can check your blood pressure level the correct way etc.
The book is amazing in that it not only lowers your blood pressure without the help of medications; it also aids you in having a life that is healthy, happier, and less stressful. This book chanced my life.
