Cats have ways of disappearing for awhile and then showing up, so don't give up. You could make flyers telling what she looks like and where she lives, etc, and put them on neighbors doors for a few blocks around. Thirteen is still not real old for a cat, so if she wasn't sick, she may still be around.

My cat went under my daughters bed to die. That is where he would sleep the most. He was laying on a blanket when we got home one day under the bed. It took us a while to find him. I know something was wrong because he always came to greet us when we came home. He was 13 years old. I hope you find him because it's so much harder if you don't have closure. I had a sick cat go off one time and never found him and it bothered me for a long time.

You've probably already done this, but have you checked small closets and cupboards? I came home after a weekend on vacation to discover my poor cat was locked in a blanket closet, which was less than 2 square feet in space! I have no idea how he got in there. It was just crazy. I felt so bad for him. Anyway, small spaces are usually the key :P

Cats (and dogs too) will sometimes go away to die. We had that happen with a dog once. We've learned to keep our animals indoors where they are safe and we can help them if they need it.

I hope you find her curled up in a closet somewhere. Cats will often go hide if they aren't feeling well.

Good Luck - my prayers are with you and your kitty.

You dont have coyotes in your area do you? If not then keep looking in the house for another day or so. If you still dont find her then she might not be alove anymore. Old cats do this all the time when they know they are going to die.

If she was sick prior to this happening she has probarly gone somewhere to die (unfortually). If she goes outside alot try looking for her under the house or behind bushes, steps anywhere really. Ask you neighbours if they have seen her too. I hope for your sake this hasn't happened and she returns home safety!

Did you also check your dresser drawers? I've lost my cats in there when I've put away laundry. The next day, I opened the drawer, she simply got up and stretched like it was no big deal. Good luck finding your cat.

I'm sure sorry about your cat sweetheart. Unfortunately, I really don't know where one would go. I sure hope you find her.
