From a traditional standpoint, I think the idea is more that God makes people and the devil tempts them into forsaking God through sin or evil deed. Those who have a strong faith and follow God's rules enter heaven - those who are seduced by Satan go to hell (among them the people who believed in the wrong version of God).
My personal belief is that God is really more a facilitator - the energy that powers this existence, created so that beings of spirit can learn things that can only be learned in the physical plane. I think as beings of spirit we are closely and inextricably connected to one another and are never alone - and in the physical plane we are really completely alone, in that we can not understand another completely, since most of us are missing that kind of mind to mind, soul to soul connection.
I think that is what causes negative emotions and I think that is what "temptation" is. After all, isn't it fear that makes us act out of greed or hate, etc.? Fear of being alone, fear of lack, fear of inadequecy...fear of death, fear of anything can cause us to act out in a violent or negative way - it is the animal nature of humanity. When we allow negativity to overcome us, we become trapped in despair or hopelessness - that is hell. Some seem to feel that when we die, if we are in our own personal hell on earth, we will have a difficult time returning home. I think that is possible, but I think they will just stay here on earth, not fry in pits of eternal damnation.
Incidentally, i don't think God judges any of us. I think we are here because we want to be and God helps us to do so. I think that energy either doesn't care or loves us so much that he could never judge us harshly.
Peace!

This debate at your office is exactly why a person needs to know the Bible in order to refute or agree with someone who gets on a rant. I have never read the people must take God's fate, I don't even know that means. God will judge those differently that do not follow Christ - so in that sense it may be consider true. He will judge humans on whether they believe in His Son as their Savior or not.

Yes, God did make all men equal. it was man who destroyed it. God sent man with both good and bad wepons. those who chose bad became bad, those who chose good became good. The live of man is an experience. It is given to realise divinity, that lies within. God does'nt judge unequally, God is a Eternal silent witness. He isa witness to everything that happens. Man has to bear the concequences. then one might ask- what is the use of God's grace? to this I answer- God's grace is like the the enesthesia given during the operation, the cut is there, but the pain is'nt.
Comming to heaven and hell- heaven and hell are just a state of mind. If u r happy, u r in heaven, if u r sad u r in hell. So that answers as to who goes to heaven and hell.

I believe that God loves all his children on earth no matter what.Only God knows who deserves to be in Heaven. Only God chooses our fate. His acceptance of us is believing in him and believing that he died for our sins, and following his footsteps. None of us are worthy til the Lord decides. All i can say is repent and accept him and you will be accepted. Some say we don't want God in our schools and we don't want to hear others talk about God and we are afarid of the unknown. Some forget him but when they are in trouble look to him. We all just need to have God in our hearts and never turn our backs on him. He is a loving God and a forgiving God also. But if we don't follow him everyday,we may pay the consequences. Scary, huh? Good deeds and being nice won't get us into heaven. But following him and believing in him and accepting him into our hearts can make all the difference. I hope we all get to heaven. Only God knows.

Everyone is created equally, but born of different curcumstances. I wouldn't expect someone of a tribal nation in the middle of Swahili to have ever heard of God. How can God judge someone who has never heard of him?
If you were a dictator and only wanted people who liked you around, you'd have to ask everyone in your nation if they liked you or hated you - they can't make that decision if they've never heard of you, read of you, or come to know you. Acts 24:15 refers to a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous - I think "unrighteous" in this scripture would refer to those who have had no chance to have ever heard of God as we know him through the Bible. I don't believe that it would mean that God would be resurrecting people like Hitler - many biblical references to God hating violent people, murderers, etc...
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "God's fate" but he is refered to in the bible as the Judge so when it all comes down to it, it's all up to him.

I claim that god, heaven, hell, and all related concepts are myths, which arose before people had science to figure out how the world really works. However, religion, no matter how illogical, gives comfort to people, so they continue to believe in it. Noted Catholic theologian Hans Kung, in a huge book entitled Does God Exist?, concludes (correctly, in my view) that neither the existence nor non-existence of god can be established by evidence. (Not surprisingly, he chooses to adopt the affirmative view.) It can be shown that an irrefutable theory can predict nothing, so every theory of god is useless. It is therefore sensible to take one's beliefs from scientific evidence, which generates useful predictions.

No two people are the same so to say that God made people equal does not seem right. You might say that God loves everyone equally, that would seem right to me.

I've not read that in the Scriptures (judging different)...
And the only people allowed into Heaven will be the born again Christian. (Holy Bible)
BTW, God didn't create the devil. He created Lucifer and when he was evicted from Heaven...He became Satan and he (Satan) conned 1/3 of the angels to follow him. If he can trick them, he can trick anyone.
