Relying only on diet pills to reduce weight is a waste of money, time and more importantly your health.
Diet pills are there for a short term usage and must be accompanied with physical exercises and healthy lifestyle to reach a lasting result.
Before any usage, and mainly at your case (High Blood Pressure), you should in NO WAY use a diet pill without consulting your doctor or pharmacist.
It is a matter of life my dear.
Here are some reviews of known diet pills:

Ok, now my suggestion:
1- Eradicate the cause of your bad eating habits, stress. here is a "7 Successful Stress Management Techniques" article:

2-Make your lifestyle healthier by eating better and just enough, and do physical exercises.
Be patient and good luck :)

I am not a Doctor but I do know there is no safe quick fix for a problem that developed over time. Sure you could take diet pills to curb your appetite, but not eating is just as harmful as over eating if not more so. Anything that claims to be a miracle cure is nothing more the a modern day version of what was called snake oil which was sold out of the back of a covered wagon to unsuspecting saps back in the 1800's Rule of thumb "if it sounds to good to be true then it probably is."

Over the counter (OTC) diet pills are considered as food supplements, and their use is unregulated. However, these are very popular and people continue to use them without considering the adverse side effects. Some weight loss pills may help you lose weight for a short time, but after a month or so, the body becomes immune to them. Diet pills can do any combination of three things: increase your adrenaline level, like caffeine, raise your body temperature to burn a little extra calories, or bind with food and let it pass through undigested. 99% of diet pills are just stimulants like caffeine, but more powerful. Stimulants decrease your appetite, but they don't really increase your weight loss directly. So, yes they really work, but without exercise and close attention to calorie intake it won't work. They are just a tool to make it a little easier, but sometimes they create side-effects that make it a disaster. If you need to avoid stimulants, forget about diet pills.

diet pills aren't a good idea. i guess you've only heard of the positive effects, but there are negative ones too. if you want to lose weight, you need to exercise and eat healthy.
