I've set it up to all the directions in the manual, but can't figure out why DVDs played in black & white instead of color. Any idea what I've done wrong?

The Bose lifestyle system's DVD player is specifically known to be faulty. I have read complaint after complaint after complaint about the DVD part of the Bose lifestyle system. Most people have the most luck with it if they use a different DVD system tied to the Bose audio aspect of the lifestyle system. Good luck.

More or likely one of the component cables is not making a connection (red, green, blue).

You may have switched from PAL playback to NTSC. They may be a toogle switch round the back or something in the setup menus
