The black wire should be the hot conductor, the white neutral, and the green ground. The Green wire, if you check with an ohmmeter should connect to the round pin that plugs into the wall.
Though the above is standard wiring, I always check just in case some assembler or factory, for some insane reason uses different coding. In general, green is always ground. Easy to remember because they both begin with G.

Green is ground, that means it is connected to all metal parts of the machine. It,s purpose is to drain all voltages to earth through the house wiring to the ground rod outside.
The white wire is connected to the ground at the service entrance and no where else. It is called the grounded conductor. The black wire is the "hot" wire, the one with the voltage, the one that will bite you. Current flows between the black and white wires. The ground wire only carries current if there is a problem. be careful! If you hook them up wrong, you could kill someone.
with telephones green is hot red is ground. In china green can be live,

Your wiring kit should come with the following: - Positive wire w/ inline fuse holder - Negative/Ground wire - Signal cable - Remote wire - speaker wire (sometimes? idk) You're probably talking about the remote wire. There should be somewhere on your amp that says Remote, that is where this wire goes. Most aftermarket HU (harness at least) will have a remote wire that you can connect this to. It basically tells the amp when to turn on/off. You could also wire this to anything else that you want it to, keeping in mind the amp will turn on when the thing you wire it to turns on. ________ PS. Interference from running signal cables with power cables is not really a myth (it is a relatively low voltage level, but HIGH CURRENT), it can happen. But I'll admit that it is highly unlikely, seeing as how signal cables for car audio are shielded so well now.

First off you better learn how to spell or use a dictionary like I do with some words! The answer is green=ground, white=neutral and black=hot. P.S. don't get fried!

of that combination in any power cord, the green is ground. can be connected to the brass/copper tab on a "cheater plug, also can be connected to the metal box of the power box, or the metal "chasis" of equiptment. or a metal post stabbed into real ground.
