I believe in The Matrix. I have been diagnosed with Schizophreia and Dementia, among many other things, and I don't know if I believe in it because I am really insane. I think that when people start believing in The Matrix, the people around them start saying that it's impossible so they give up. They don't believe in it anymore because people tell them they shouldn't. What if you still believe? I feel like it's true and I need to find other people that believe in this as I do. Maybe one day we can all be set free and see the real world. Why do people always say I'm insane! I sometimes tell people I am Jesus, and they doubt me 100%. If I had said that 2000 something years ago I would be the spawn of a religion, so what makes people so sure I am not the son of God? Why are people so sure there is even a God, and why can people put so much trust into a religion they know nothing about because it was founded ages ago. Think about all the big government building and secret bases!

I'm not sure what the offensive photos post is about, if anyone cares to expand...And for loony, I am not making fun of people like me...I just don't understand why people can't have such an open mind? Why do you have to believe in something based on things you have been told?

If we need a purpose for life, The Matrix gives us one. We are alive to entertain our brains while machines harvest our bodies' energy. And one thing I don't get about people with religions where you have to do certain things to get into heaven is that if you are having to prove that you are worthy of heaven, god is not all knowing. And if god is all knowing, then he already knows if you deserve heaven or not before you act. Think about it.

If we are supposed to live our lives to give us the reason why we are sent to either heaven or hell, then only people who are going to hell need a life. People who go to heaven aren't going to complain that they are bad and don't deserve it, only people sent to hell for 'no reason'. So it seems as though everyone on this earth is meant to go to hell. That is, assuming all of the assumptions to this belief are correct. I mean, this can't be true if there is no heaven/hell, blah blah blah. So in that situation, we are all going to hell. But what does that have to do with The Matrix?

If you just replace the matrix with eternal energy who is self-conscious...you will actually be believing in Shakta path of Hinduism
The concept of Matrix matches 99% with the belief of Shakta path..
so I dont take u as schizophreic

The basic concept of Matrix is coherent with the life of this world. The life of this world is temporary, and everything has a limit, you can't say that you have infinite amount of something, for example, money, happiness, contentment etc. Matrix shows the world as being controlled by a supercomputer, a super power, which in Abrahamic religions is God. The life of this world is a simulation because everyone has to die and there is a degree of uncertainty involved which gives way to probability. An important concept emerges here, because there is a degree of uncertainty, so for example, even if you intend to do something bad with a person, its not necessary that you are able to achieve that, maybe something happens, for example you fall sick, or change your mind because you got satisfied by some other thing. Similarly, if you intend to do good with a person, its not necessary that you are able to do that for the same reasons as mentioned above. How does it work then? Intuitively this gives importance to _intention_ , that is what was that you had intended to do. Your acts are based on your intentions and you will be judged for what you had intended to do.
Sometime back I had read on Slashdot that some Professors in a university in US had proven that there is more probability that this world is actually a simulation, which means there will be an end, when the simulation will end, then the "real" would be unveiled.
Just my 2 cents :)
About religion, learn to have a critical look at everything, read, read and read. The more knowledge you gain, the more sound your approach will be, and the more stable will your thoughts become. Guide yourself in a certain direction rather than wandering in a zig zag motion. Be sincere in your intention and seek the truth. Whoever goes to achieve something with an open heart, he gets helped by his ownself.
If you do that already and feel that you are more informed than you were a month back, you are moving in the right direction. Just don't let any prejudice overcome your thoughts and influence your decisions.
Razor, about your second comment:
God is All Knowing, yes He knows who is going to end up in heaven and hell. Lets say there was no life of this world, and people were directly presented with their destinations, that is heaven or hell, as God knows. What will be your response, won't you think that why am I being sent to hell when I haven't done anything wrong?
This is why God wants is to be in this world, because its a trial for us. When we go through this trial we have choices to make. We are not enforced by anything, depending on the choices we make, we create a _reason_ to be judged on the Day of Judgement, so that we can't say that why heaven or hell? Because we would be presented with what we had done when we lived our life, we would have no excuse for the decision that would be made, because it would be on "merit".
To add to that, Prophets were sent to specify and remind people of the right choices to make which with a very high probability willl make them successful in the Hereafter.

no...about the religion thing....it wouldn't work out because as you said you are Schizo.
If you have trouble coping and maintaining focus on this one reality how could you control people if you were born 2000 years ago? You would have some other whack idea like the matrix OK honey? I hate to break it to you. Get into spirituality. I think if you can learn to meditate on virtues and such you'll be much better off with all that spare Grey matter you have. Maybe sometime later you could be functional enough to be taken seriously and given responsibilities of a job role. Take care.

well that is certainly very interesting, are you famiar with the way whitches were tested to see if they were a witch or not. well if your the son of god, you would rise three days later right...... Not that that is what your being is meant for in this current incarnation. Then again your theories conflict if the Matrix is your belief system then how does god come into play and or any relevance. The religion is centuries old. There are written records things like that too.

I have never thought about it that way, actually I think it's a difficult thought. But I am schizophrenic too and I also ask myself where those voices come from and then think we're in a system where everything's set up and can be controlled in advance, and in my case also is severely being controlled (also with the meds). Not like a matrix, but some kind of underworld...we are here...difficult to explain. but it doesn't matter...I guess you're just making fun out of schizos anyway.

What Is The Purpose Of Life ?
They say that a fool lives to eat and a wise man eats to live. But then the question remains: for what purpose does the wise man live? Living is not an end by itself. There has to be a purpose for man to live for. So what is this purpose?
Where from? Where to? And Why?
