Most people have a yard sale on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. no it does not make you a bad person to have a yard sale on Sunday. some people may think it is but it all depends on how you feel about the day.

It is not done in this area on Sunday. Saturday is the big day, and I do not see many on Friday, very few.
The folks who take Sunday seriously, go to church, and who consider working on the Sabbath a sacrilege, would be offended.
There are a lot of those churches here, so no one does the Sunday yard sale.

Usually successful Garage Sales are repetitive. First, people who go to Garage Sales have to find it before they know where to look. So you may want to open a garage sale on Saturday morning and not close until nearly dark. Open again on Sunday and do the same. And then do it the next week end so people start looking for you and your things.

Nobody has a garage sale on a Friday, people have to work. Garage sales are on the weekend, Sat and Sun. People like to go on Saturdays and Sundays after church.

Firday and saturday and for die harders thursday. They are not usually on sunday because you have to clean up afterwars and this could not leave much time if you have to work the next day and also because most people at least in the midwest go to church and then out to eat or spend the day with there family and do not like to yard sale in dress clothes thus making it a waist of time to even have one on sundays.

Most have them friday and saturday around here. Since by sunday you realize how much you spent at the garage sales and don't want to go to anymore ;)

Sunday is a "day of rest" for old-fashioned Christians.

But if that's your only day off, it's certainly not bad to have it then. Many people feel that Sunday is Family Day, so there may be lower attendance.

Saturday is always the best day, and try to pick decent weather. Not too many people are willing to battle rain and cold weather, to find those bargains.

I grew up in rural Michigan, our garage sales were Thursday to Saturday, we couldn't buy liquor on Sundays and garsh darnit, no sales either. Heck when I was young most stores were closed on Sunday.

But now I live in the metro Detroit area and most sales here are Friday to Sunday.
