15 answers as I write this and one or two is close, but no cigar. The wrod church is a translation of the greek word whitch I know I will mispell eclcesea meaning called out. The church is not a building but a body of believers who are the called out body of Christ.
Called out of what? The world. A transformation of soul.
Forgive me for answering, since I am a Wiccan and no longer Christian, but it just amazes me how many people claim to be Christian and the do not have any understanding of what a Christian is or what the church is.
In the New Testement you will never find the word church to refer to a building but rather Christians themselves. The church is the body of Christ.

The Church is the People Of God. It is the body of believers with Christ as the Head, & the Bride Of Christ.

Your question should be more specific but I think you are asking what the phrase,"the Church." is referring to. The Roman Catholic Church is often referred to as, " THE CHURCH". In this context it is not referring to a building, but its political structure. The phrase is not only used by Catholics but is used by other religions. to refer to this structure.
